PEOPLE OR GUNS?
I write this lines out of solidarity with journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward, two colegues I never met whos lives were cut off by a man who could buy a gun just like any other citizen buy a chocolate in a drugstore. When will the Americans see what is happening to their own people? When it comes to choose between people and guns, the nation chooses guns... and tragedies take place one after the other. Inocent people, children, women, men, anyone and everyone lives everyday in a bubble of probabilities.
The fact is this: One simple bullet can end an entire human life in a fraction of a second. Every civilized nation, therefore, places guns in the hands of trained profesionals, the armed forces, the police. It makes sense. Within those institutions a follow up of every person who holds a gun can be conducted, the use and missuse of weapons are studied, previewed, directed, and every official is trainned not only on how to use them but when to use them or not. Weapons, as evil as they are, will always be part of a organized society, but what makes civilized that society is their wisdom to protect their own people despite the existance of guns. That is why they are restricted to the police and the armed forces. In some nations not even the police have them. That simple fact MEANS savety for all inhabitants of a nation.
The situation in America is exactly the opposite. Stats say that 300.000.000 million people managed to get hold of guns of different denominations. The problem here is the lethal potential of the inanimated thing, the gun, AND the animated person that holds it. Take a sample of 10 people and test them in any issue, any at all. The result will be 10 different pshysical, mental, psicological and emotional individuals. Give a pencil to every one of them and ask them to draw a landscape. Five out of ten will not be able to do it. The reasons of the inability for each one of them will be also different. Now take 300.000.000 million civilians and give them a gun.... It is difficult to undestand why Americans keep puting up with these permanent tragedies that could be prevented just by taking a step into civilization. The Second Ammendmant is their argument. When I began following the Obama Admnistration and events in America five years ago, a shooting had just happened involving three and four years old children. I invite you to read how the Second Ammendmant looks to observers from afar : http://revistapipol.blogspot.com/2012/12/through-their-fingers.html
