A HIDDEN STAR

 

 

 

 

Politicians are not no be believed by what they say but by what they do. Any one can say anything, especially during campaigns. To bring promises to reality is another matter. What makes him a hidden star is that during his rule as major and governor, Martin O´Malley DID in FACT make reality all issues that run Democrats campaign, issues that lifted America from crisis to world leadership through a daring, wise Democrat administration. What is surprising about this man is what he actually DID: he increased minimum wage, raised graduation rates, expanded Pre-K, decriminalized small amounts of marihuana, issued Firearm safety act, repealed death penalty, signed Maryland’s version of the dream act, improved health coverage, restored voting rights, wrote anti-discrimination laws, stood for women´s rights, for immigration reform, for peace and for fighting against global warming. So, there is this man ruling one of the 50 states doing - on his own - the entire Democratic agenda: a star. 

 

American people have today something they did not have before, two clear views: one framed within the Wall Street crisis dragging the entire world into an edge, sustained wars decade after decade filling neat cemeteries with thousand of thousands of even, white crosses, and a general state of society that pushed indignant people into the streets regardless of their age or political color. It was the view of America tired of the way it was being conducted. The other view is today´s view where all variables that measure the state of a society show ascending successful trends. Having those two views, it would be obvious for any observer to see American people wanting to keep the trend on. Today they are many times better than a decade before. And not only them. The fresh direction that American rule has taken in recent years has given them leadership in a world that has waken to what is actually meaningful, needed and important for all inhabitants of planet Earth. 

 

To keep that trend on, it would seem wise to put the rule in the hands of a person who has been able to accomplish all needed tasks on his own. Another of his team partners, Bernie Sanders, is not a hidden star, he is an open star, one of the most daring, innovative voices America has produced made by a true democratic heart and a brilliant mind that catches the core of every issue. Life has certainly already given Hillary Clinton opportunities to show her commitment to her nation in many successful ways. But an energetic, experienced, spirited man carrying the new voice of the new generation, whose outstanding factual trajectory and figure can face any and all opposition, gives a very interesting option for keeping the trend on. Leadership is not only a phrase to be proud of. It is a hard job obtained only by clear objectives, strong stand, hard work and, above all, consistency. / Silvia Dávila MM, EarthPIpol, Nov 19, 2015
